In lieu of the Zephyrus S GX531 that we reviewed recently, ASUS ROG just announced a larger version of that laptop which is aptly name the Zephyrus S GX701. Of course, this laptop is not S-sized but actually a laptop with 17-inch screen.
This laptop now also comes with the latest NVIDIA GeForce RTX2080 Max-Q design GPU. This also marks the beginning of RTX20-series mobile GPUs. Like its desktop card counterparts, the RTX2080 Max-Q can do real-time ray-tracing as well since it does have Tensor and RT cores. Just plug it back to the original DC charger and get the most performance out of it.
A funny thing about the Zephyrus S GX701 is that there is no webcam. ASUS claims that the bezels around the screen is so thin, they do not have enough room to integrate a webcam. So what they did is to create another external USB webcam – which is optional – and lets you place it wherever you want.
Introducing the ROG GC21 webcam. It can record at 1080p 60FPS and can be placed on top of the display like any other laptop webcams or put it elsewhere since there is another aluminium base included.
