This is the most anticipated DOTA 2 in ages! The DOTA 2 community has been raging over the absence of Diretide over Halloween, and Valve has since promised to bring Diretide at the end of the year.
The time has arrived, not just for this event, but also a major update that will perhaps, tip the balance of the game with the introduction of new heroes. While Storm Spirit has been available in game modes, Valve is adding Earth Spirit and Ember Spirit into the mix. Gone are the days of unusual couriers, as with the proper tools, one can imbue their existing couriers with unusual effects, or socket newer attributes to existing strange items (which are converted into an ‘inscribed’ class). This may ripple the existing ‘trader saturated’ market and level the playing field as anyone could obtain an unusual courier simply through crafting. Of course, you will never have a 38,000 USD pink Wardog though.
Showcase View allows viewers to watch replays from new perspectives – which may result in better video content from tournaments or users. This will bring a new and refreshing look to tournaments, and could perhaps fuel more interest for audience support and ticket sales.
Diretide starts 14th November and introduces 3 new Diretide chests for pickings. Hopefully, Valve has resolved their mechanics from last year’s event and makes it impossible for players to game the system for Golden Baby Roshans.
