Epson, a top brand for document scanners in ASEAN, has unveiled its latest A4 scanners: the WorkForce DS-1730 and DS-1760WN. These scanners are designed to streamline business operations with their fast, flexible, and eco-conscious features.
High-Speed, High-Quality Scanning
The new scanners offer impressive speeds, reaching up to 30 pages per minute with the automatic document feeder (ADF) and 7 seconds per page with the flatbed. They can handle a variety of media types, from mixed-size documents in the ADF to delicate or thick items like ID cards and photos on the flatbed. To ensure high-quality digital outputs, they include features like one-pass duplex scanning, text enhancement, and punch hole removal. A continuous scanning feature allows users to combine scans from both the ADF and flatbed into a single file, improving efficiency. The scanners also detect and crop multiple items of different sizes in one scan.
Seamless Document Management
The DS-1760WN stands out with its PC-less operation using ScanWay, which enables direct scanning to network folders, USB drives, cloud services, or email via the scanner’s control panel. Both models are equipped with Document Capture Pro software, which offers up to 30 customizable scan jobs, OCR for converting documents to searchable PDFs or editable Office files, and direct sending to various destinations. They also support barcode and Machine Readable Zone (MRZ) recognition, as well as flexible file naming and sorting options.
Sustainable and Smart Design
Epson emphasizes sustainability with these new models, as up to 30% of the main body is made from recycled plastics. This commitment to an eco-conscious design helps businesses reduce their environmental footprint without sacrificing performance or a compact form factor. The scanners also feature an image sensor glass dirt detection system that alerts users to any dirt on the glass, which helps to maintain image quality and reduce the need for rescanning.
The WorkForce DS-1730 and DS-1760WN scanners will be available for purchase in Malaysia starting August 1, 2025.
