A Japanese company, Vinclu Inc. has unveiled the concept of Hologram Communication Robot, Gatebox.
According to their official product page, Gatebox is a virtual hologram that you can actually communicate with; a holographic robot. Gatebox is capable of displaying variety of digital character and appears to be actually there talking to you with a feeling of its physical presence.
The company says that Gatebox would be capable of image and speech recognition as well as fetching data from the internet such as weather forecast and latest news for you to start the day.
The Gatebox concept model is using the hologram technology as well as sensing technology in order for you to interact with it with gestures and possibly face recognition. Paired with a smart home system, Gatebox is capable of various automated actions such as controlling the television, lighting or climate control.
The product was visioned to be more like a life partner for you where she will wake you up in the morning and give you reminders of the schedule ahead.
