Taiwan’s “Go Healthy with Taiwan 2026” has continued its movement in Malaysia through the latest campaign, the Diabetes Malaysia Conference 2026, where it engaged more than 300 professionals from the healthcare, public health, academic, and industrial sectors.
The outreach comes as Malaysia continues to face significant challenges in diabetes management. According to the National Health and Morbidity Survey (NHMS) 2023, 15.6% of Malaysian adults are living with diabetes, equivalent to roughly one in six adults. The survey also found that around 40% of those affected are unaware of their condition, underscoring the need for improved screening, prevention, and disease management strategies.
One of the ways the world is looking to address this challenge is through technology, and that’s where Taiwan comes in to connect international healthcare ideas with its medical technology ecosystem, involving medical research, technological development, and commercialization.
Traditional treatment models are also being revised to bring in new and innovative ideas in segments of smart healthcare systems, digital health platforms, preventive care technologies, and health-promotion programs.
The campaign reflects a broader trend across Asia-Pacific healthcare systems, where governments, healthcare providers, and technology companies are increasingly exploring digital tools and data-driven approaches to improve disease prevention and long-term health outcomes. Taiwan has been positioning itself as a partner in this effort by promoting its healthcare technology ecosystem and encouraging international collaboration.
Through the program, innovators worldwide can submit proposals aimed at addressing health-related challenges while leveraging Taiwan’s healthcare expertise and industrial resources. Organizers said the objective is to transform promising concepts into deployable solutions capable of delivering measurable health benefits.
The global call-for-proposals from Go Healthy with Taiwan 2026 is still live at the moment, as registration remains open until August 5. The three winning teams will each receive USD 30,000 and gain opportunities to work with Taiwanese enterprises and technology platforms to further develop and commercialize their solutions.
