Catching things up to speed in the financial market is not an easy thing for common people, so Google has announced they have kicked off the launch of the new Google Finance app, where you can get access to an expanded set of tools aimed at turning financial tracking into a more interactive, AI-assisted workflow rather than a static information dashboard.
No longer need to chat through Google Search or other interfaces, the newly redesigned portfolio system in Finance puts everything into a one page, and users can now import investment data through CSV or PDF files, or even generate a portfolio by describing their holdings in natural language. Then, the system will organize assets into a structured view, surfacing performance metrics alongside insights into allocation, diversification, and exposure.
The AI will fill the role of an analyst, which can identify patterns and chat with the users from a research perspective. One can ask contextual questions such as sector imbalance or long-term allocation impact, with responses generated based on the portfolio’s composition and broader market signals. The goal is to shift analysis from manual interpretation to conversational exploration.
Of course, you can also submit prompts directly to let the AI do specific tasks around market intelligence (pre-market summaries, crypto movement charts, you name it), provided you’re familiar with the game and know how things work – You just need it to do the mundane stuff. These insights are then delivered through notifications on Android, iOS, and the web interface.
The app is now available on the Play Store at the moment, with the release for iOS coming at a later date. Google will also integrate more features, such as live earnings calls and full portfolio task integration, in the future.
