Google I/O ended about a week ago and they didn’t announce anything new to Android, but only everything around Android. Well, it isn’t a bad thing, since Google finally gave some time for others to catch up to the latest version of Android, yet also offering those who are running on the older versions of Android to get the best service from Google via the universal Android apps.
Google Now, an app that can be ran on any Android devices running Android 4.1 and above, got quite a major upgrade from Google, as announced during Google I/O. For me personally, it’s not as good as the new iterative of Android, but then again, Google Now did indeed showed me how it can improve life drastically, not once, not twice, but quite a lot of times.
Google Now has a few new cards, particularly I like that the cards about research.
I searched about some cameras the other day, and this is what I got – cards about research!
Google actually knows what particular field you’re researching about, and then a card appears to show you what are the commonly searched terms of that particular topic.
Dwelling further into exploring more, there are tonnes of related topics, including reviews, occasionally lenses, flash and also some other accessories. Scrolling down… you can see even more related topics.
Hey, Google even remembers what topic you’re researching in the past, so you can always keep up with the latest information on the previously researched topics.
Then you might ask : “Hey, why do I care?”
You should care, because given such relations of researched topics, you can only expand the knowledge more and more through relations. As the topics get larger and larger (though related), you can finally bring everything into one place and compile all the knowledge together.
The Internet is all about free knowledge, and Google is doing it right by bringing it all right in front of you.
