Grab Malaysia is launching an all-new category within its food delivery service GrabFood which is Food Courts that lets you order a variety of meals for just a single portion of delivery fee.
It is stemmed from the recent “Grab e-Kitchen Bazar” during the clash between the Movement Control Order and the month of Ramadhan where users can order foods from multiple stalls and only paying delivery fees for just 1 order. With over 66,000 orders fulfilled across 133 vendors, it was a decent success as busy Muslims can have food sent directly to their houses without queuing while many local vendors are able to sustain their finances through the hard times.
This time, the target is switched towards food courts to help local hawker stalls and traditional businesses improve their sales through the digital transformation while letting users enjoy the familiar delivery service to generate a better digital economy. Meanwhile, Penang users are confirmed to have Pasar Batu Lanchang and Pasar Bayan Baru joining the list of available markets, with Pasar Seberang Jaya and Pasar Bagan Ajam available in early October.
