Grab just introduced GrabPay Credits, a new way of paying for your Grab rides. Instead of using cash or debit/credit card to pay, you can now top-up some cash onto your GrabPay Credits first. Then you can use those credits to pay for your rides later.
I think that the GrabPray Credits is a good method to go around the fact that not many people have debit/credit cards to begin with, and Grab made it possible to reload your account through MOL points. Of course, you can also reload your account through these options:
- Online banking: Affin Bank, Am Online, Bank Islam, CIMB Clicks, Hong Leong Connect, Maybank2U, Public Bank and RHB Now
- Convenience stores: 7-Eleven stores and Kedai Mesra Petronas
- Cards and e-Wallets: MasterCard, Visa, American Express and China Union Pay
The GrabPay Credits will be available in Malaysia from 5th December onwards.
I wonder – will Grab ever integrate its payment service on WeChat Wallet when it’s available in Malaysia?
