I’m sure most of you guys have already heard and/or seen HTC’s brand new flagship smartphone – the HTC U11. It has one new feature that stands out above the rest – the squeezable sides. And just recently, it has arrived at the Malaysian market. Here’s what you need to know.
First, a quick spec rundown. The HTC U11 is a 5.5-inch phone with 1440p Super LCD5 display, Snapdragon 835 chipset with an octa-core (4x 2.45GHz + 4x 1.9GHz), Adreno 540 graphics, 6GB RAM, and 128GB of storage. Comes with a 12 MP f/1.7 aperture rear-facing camera that HTC dubbed as UltraSpeed AutoFocus that has the same auto-focusing technology as full-frame in top DSLR cameras too. As for the selfie camera, it’s a 16MP shooter with UltraPixel light sensitivity to help beautify your selfies.
To top it all off, HTC also included a few premiums in the U11, like their HTC USonic, the headset that has Active Noise Cancellation, that super-highly reflective Liquid Surface, and most importantly – the HTC Edge Sense where you can squeeze.
In a way, the HTC Edge Sense (or the squeezy) functions pretty much like the Smart Key on the Honor 8. However, instead of being a physical button, it’s now located at the sides where you can squeeze. Much like the Smart Key again, the HTC Edge Sense gives you the ability to “short squeeze” as well as “squeeze and hold” for more functionality. Without any moving parts like a switch, the HTC U11 is certified IP67 rating – which means it’s dust, splash, and water resistant for up to 1 meter of freshwater for up to 30 minutes.
After so much talk, just how much is the HTC U11 exactly? Well, HTC is pricing it at RM 3,099, inclusive of GST. It’ll be available for purchase in late June 2017, and will come in Amazing Silver, Sapphire Blue, and Brilliant Black colors.
Maxis will also be the first telco to offer exclusive plans for the HTC U11 starting late June, Also, you can pre-order the HTC U11 on Lazada, 11Street, and for some reason, HTC Malaysia’s Facebook Page this month.
As a gift, anyone who pre-orders the HTC U11 will be eligible to get the exclusive U11timate box sets which include limited edition HTC merchandises.
[UPDATE]: HTC U11 is now available in a brand new color option – Solar Red!
For those who wants to get the brand new HTC U11, then today is your lucky day! It’s now available in another gorgeous color known as Solar Red. By the pictures, it seems a little more… maroon with a slight tint of orange at certain angles. According to HTC, the Solar Red actually has a “deep, stunning red shade which transforms to a searing orange color and even to yellow-gold hues under certain lightings”.
Certainly, it’s an innovative aesthetic design from HTC here!
Specs are still the same too – and still have that 6GB RAM and 128GB storage.
