Huawei Malaysia has announced the arrival of the Huawei Nova 7 – soon. But for only 1 day which is 7th July, you’ll get to preorder it for only RM1,999. Pretty steep price, but it comes with the HiSilicon Kirin 985 chipset with 5G support.
Huawei Nova 7 is one of the relatively cheap 5G smartphones in the market right now and Huawei is touting that this new phone comes with a better selfie camera. The smartphone comes with the following specs:
- 6.53-inch OLED display
- 1080p resolution
- Punch hole notch at the top left corner
- Kirin 985 5G chipset
- 8GB RAM
- Up to 256GB storage
- Quad rear-facing cameras
- Main: 64MP f/1.8 PDAF
- Ultra-wide angle: 8MP f/2.4 PDAF
- Telephoto: 8 MP, f/2.4 PDAF, 3x optical zoom
- Macro: 2MP f/2.4
- 32MP f/2.2 selfie camera
- 4,000mAh battery
- 45W fast charging
- 5W reverse charging
- Black, Space Silver, Midsummer Purple, Red, Green
We have already reviewed the Huawei Nova 7 SE not long ago and overall, that phone has a fantastic 64MP main camera but everything other thing is pretty standard in terms of a mid-range smartphone nowadays.
One particular thing that we still have to highlight is the 5G feature. While it’s nice to have, it’s still unusable here in Malaysia. By the time 5G becomes widely-available and affordable, I think the next generation of Huawei Nova smartphones are already in the market – alongside with even more affordable and potentially better 5G mid-range smartphones.
