In case you haven’t been following the slew of Malaysian soap opera that has been brewing over the course of the week, let me summarize it for you. There was a general election and there was a change in government. In lieu of all that, the new government’s promise is to abolish GST – and they’ve decided that GST will be canceled on 1st June. Huawei can’t wait for that long and that’s why they’re already offering the 6% cashback now.
From today until 31st May 2018, you are eligible for the 6% cashback. Many people can’t wait for 1st June – and that’s why Huawei is offering a 6% cashback right now. The 6% cashback is obviously to counter the GST.
