Today is the day – Huawei has finally officially unveiled the P30 and P30 Pro after months of “leaks” that was floating around the internet. With this announcement obviously comes with a whole lot of buzz – and here is what we know about the P30 and P30 Pro.
Of course, the letter P here should stand for photography as both the P30 and P30 Pro comes with a heavy focus on how much it can losslessly zoom and how much it can digitally zoom.
Both of them will come with a feature called “Dual Video” as it takes a video with the telephoto camera and another video with the main camera, puts both the recording side by side and saved into a single file. This feature will arrive in about a month and we still do not know the resolution or the frame rate yet. Obviously, I would like to save the video in two separate files as it will elevate my flexibility in video creation.
Huawei P30 Pro
Let’s start off with the big one here. It comes with this list of specs:
- 6.47-inch OLED display with 2340×1080 pixels in resolution
- Waterdrop notch
- HiSilicon Kirin 980 chipset
- 8GB RAM
- Up to 512GB of internal storage (expandable with NM card)
- Quadruple rear-facing cameras
- Main: 40MP f/1.6 with PDAF, laser AF, OIS
- Ultrawide: 20MP f/2.2 with PDAF and laser AF
- Telephoto: 5x optical zoom; 8MP f/3.4 with OIS, PDAF, and laser AF
- 3D TOF camera
- Selfie camera: 32MP f/2.0
- 4,200mAh battery with 40W fast charging
Interesting thing about the zooming here is that the Huawei P30 Pro can actually take a maximum of 50x digital zoom. We will obviously take it for a spin when we get our hands on the Huawei P30 Pro.
In terms of the phone itself, the interesting thing here is the color of the phone. It comes with a total of 5 colors – and we are not sure which color will be available in Malaysia just yet.
We also do not know about the local pricing and date of sale, so stay tuned for more information.
