Kingston has revealed the successor of the popular NV1 NVMe SSD which is, you guessed it, the NV2.
The iconic affordability and simple design that can literally go into all sorts of devices including PCs and laptops that have the M.2 2280 slot returns to the NV2 but now it is a PCIe 4.0 compatible drive with speeds of up to 3,500MB/s for reads and 2,800MB/s for writes.
The idea of futureproofing also applies to the NV2 as well because of its backward compatibility with PCIe 3.0 which means you can plug into your old system for now and unleash its new potential when it’s time for a “next-gen build”.
Availability
The Kingston NV2 PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD can be acquired at the capacities of 250GB, 500GB, 1TB, and 2TB.
Although some shops in Malaysia did start to sell them in digital stores, the official Kingston shop still hasn’t listed it yet so perhaps wait for an official price then only pull the trigger.
