Rakuten Kobo has announced a new partnership with Instapaper, a popular “read it later” service, for all its eReaders. This integration allows Kobo users to save web articles to their Instapaper account and read them on their Kobo device for a focused, distraction-free experience.

Kobo CEO Michael Tamblyn stated the new feature was essential following the unexpected shutdown of the Pocket service. “Partnering with Instapaper has been a dream,” he said, highlighting the seamless experience and their shared goal of improving digital reading.

Instapaper CEO Brian Donohue also praised the integration, noting that Kobo has quickly become one of the Instapaper team’s preferred ways to read their own saved articles.

To get started with the new Instapaper feature, Kobo users can find more details on the company’s help page.
