Lenovo had come a long way in the mobile market, and had just launched the Vibe X recently into the market with its superb specs. Now, there is a new, advanced variant of the Vibe X, called the Vibe Z.
First off, let’s have a rundown on its specs.
- Quad-core 2.2GHz Snapdragon 800 processor
- 5.5-inch screen with 20/20 Vision Display (1080p, IPS )
- 13MP auto-focus rear-facing camera (f/1.8), 5MP fixed-focus front-facing camera with 84º wide angle lens
- 2GB RAM, 16GB internal memory, no SD card slot
- Android 4.3 Jelly Bean (updates unconfirmed)
- 3000mAh battery
- 4G LTE with 850/1800/2100MHz bands
The Vibe Z has an ultra-sharp screen that’s for sure, with 400 pixels per inch in a super-slim titanium body that has laser-etched and fabric-like feeling at the rear cover. The rear-facing camera packs some serious quality pixels with its 13MP sensor and also a large f/1.8 aperture lens to give you that shallow depth of field alongside with amazing low-light photos.
The phone itself comes with Android 4.3 Jelly Bean under Lenovo’s heavily modified interface, with the removal of the App Drawer and has only a single-layered menu – that is to integrate the homescreen alongside with the app drawer. Though with this much pixels and such a beautiful screen, storage is a problem as there’s only 16GB internal memory (usable memory unknown yet) and with no SD card slot, making storage a real problem. Want to store all those amazing photos on your phone or watch high-def movies on your Vibe Z? There’s a big limitation here.
However, with the 4G connectivity built into the Vibe Z, it would still be possible to stream high-def photos and movies to your Vibe Z through 4G LTE.
As for the pricing and availability, the Vibe Z will be retailing at RM1,799 starting from 15th April 2014 at all Lenovo Smartphone Retail Partners.
Celcom has a month of exclusivity – meaning that Celcom will be the first to have the Vibe Z on sale starting from 15th March 2014 for a month, and receive RM50 shopping voucher when purchasing the Vibe Z with Celcom’s exclusive plans. Celcom will be offering the Vibe Z for only RM688 to the first 30 customers during the launch at Blue Cube @ Sunway Iconic on 15th March, and also stand a chance to win freebies. However if you cannot make it, don’t be depressed – Celcom offers the Vibe Z with their mPro and mPro Plus plans with 5GB of data starting at RM988 on a 24-month contract.
