A week ago we posted about the new Galaxy S IV specs and we mentioned under the specs section that there are two variants of the Samsung Galaxy S IV that has different processors – one variant with the Exynos octa-core and the other with a quad-core Snapdragon Krait processors.
For a short summary, the octa-core version is a Exynos 5 Octa-Core running at 1.6GHz whereas the other version runs on a quad-core Snapdragon 600 running at 1.9GHz.
As stated by Sam Mobile’s full list of variants and countries, Malaysia is said to get both variants with the below information.
GT-I**** = Not decided yet.
GT-I9500 = Exynos
GT-I9505 = Snapdragon
GT-I9500 / GT-I9505 = Samsung to bring both versions
And Malaysia was stated with this :
GT-I9500 / GT-I9505 – Malaysia
To have both variants in the market… I think that it will only confuse the market. The most agonizing part is that Singapore, our neighbouring country, gets the quad-core Snapdragon version. It will most definitely cause demand rise for the octa-core version from the Singaporeans! Prices are still unknown for the time being.
Check out the entire list of countries and its variants below on the source!
UPDATE : The Exynos variant (GT-i9500) will not get LTE capabilities but the Snapdragon (GT-i9505) will be LTE capable. So it’s a trade of power with the price of LTE functionality.
