To make the whole conference more fun and energetic! there was an “NFC – The Amazing Race” contest, where participants were required to visit booths with special NFC tags by using their own devices to answer questions related to the exhibitor. There was also a contest on “NFC Pitching” – ideas on using NFC in an innovative manner as well as “3D Design and Printing”, where contestants will be judged on their 3D printed creations. These contests complement the Conference, letting the audience share knowledge, interest, creativity and innovative ideas with one another.
Despite having existed for quite some time, NFC is still not widely used in Malaysia, and the country’s LTE coverage is limited to selected areas only, alongside with its ridiculous price and also limited devices that support LTE technology. Therefore, the conference had brought us more information on how we should educate both on the secondary and tertiary level of education students on the benefits of both technologies.
Hopefully this will lead Malaysia to a better future where we can fully use this kind of technology everywhere in our own country! That would be cool to finally be a little bit like the Japanese – paying everything with NFC!
