MEASAT has announced that the MEASAT-3d satellite has been successfully launched from the European Spaceport in Kourou, French Guiana.
Many Malaysians who reside in rural areas may still have limited or no access to the internet today. With the launch of the new satellite, MEASAT will be able to deliver data-intensive services and high-speed satellite broadband internet to about two million more Malaysians.
Once the stable high-speed internet connection is widely available throughout the nation, more Malaysians will have access to socioeconomic benefits powered by the internet, such as engaging in e-Commerce, internet-based learning, and many more.
The MEASAT-3d satellite will be transited from a geo-transfer orbit into a geostationary orbit over the next few days at MEASAT’s key 91.5°E video neighborhood. It will then be tested for approximately one month before going into commercial operations.
