Many years back, Microsoft announced a free online messaging service called MSN, later renamed it to Windows Live Messenger, all within the Live suite alongside with other Windows-exclusive software.

In mid 2011 though, Microsoft acquired the renowned video chatting service Skype for $8.5 billion (RM 26.46 billion) and reasons were unknown, yet they had a partnership with Facebook to enable video chatting on Facebook’s Chat.

Recently however, Microsoft announced the death of Messenger to be on April 8th 2013, to be merged with Skype while offering every Messenger supporter a month of free calls.

Being a full time supporter of Messenger before, it’s without a doubt that Microsoft will kill WLM given that Skype is now having a much larger user base then WLM ever since Facebook Chat came by. For me personally, even my friends are not using WLM any more – so why bother using that messenger service?

This offer is sent to my personal email, so you will have to check and claim on your own email to make sure if you have a month of free call.
