Midea is broadening its retail presence in Malaysia through a new partnership with 99 Speed Mart, aiming to put its home appliances within easier reach of consumers nationwide.

The collaboration was formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding, marking another step in Midea’s ongoing growth strategy for the Malaysian market.

The signing ceremony brought together Mark Tam, Managing Director of Midea Malaysia, with Zeal Jiang, President of Midea Group’s Asia Pacific region, serving as witness, while 99 Speed Mart was represented by Chief Operating Officer Yong Eng Kwang, with Executive Director and CEO Lee Thiam Wah acting as witness.

Mark Tam said the expanded retail network gives consumers easier access to Midea’s appliances, including blenders, electric kettles, rice cookers, fans, toasters and toaster ovens, vacuums, and stoves, and that partnering with 99 Speed Mart taps into one of Malaysia’s most extensive retail footprints, letting Midea reach more neighborhoods in line with the retailer’s “Near n’ Save” positioning. He added that the partnership complements Midea’s existing brand stores and authorized dealer network, creating more ways for customers to discover and buy its products.

Meanwhile, Lee Thiam Wah, founder and CEO of 99 Speed Mart, called the partnership an important milestone as the chain expands beyond its traditional offerings to bring trusted home appliance options to customers across Malaysia, noting that the collaboration lets 99 Speed Mart better serve everyday needs by making quality appliances more accessible through its nationwide network.

To kick off this collaboration, one can find these Midea products in 99 Speed Mart stores starting August:
