This certainly isn’t something that any of us would see any day. It is reported that Apple will now drop Google Maps and use their own maps, as reported by 9to5Mac.
There are no further details about this, but BGR seem to have a peek from the leaks; reporting that it even has 3D maps even for Apple’s famous attitude towards secrecy.
Google however, also has something out of their sleeves and is having an event earlier than Apple’s WWDC in San Francisco.
It will be very interesting to see what each of these have hidden up their sleeves as maps would be one of – for me – the last thing that tech giants would be in war with. Given very strong speculation and a leaked image, it is said that Apple’s map is largely focused on 3D viewing.
Whereas for Google… it already has 3D viewing, so I wonder what the “next dimension” will be. Augmented reality ala Layar, the augmented reality browser on Google Glasses? That would be interesting since the video demonstrating the project glass is really captivating though it only uses the not-so-lively Google+
Only time will tell what is all this is about.
