MSI has launched the Crosshair A16 HX MLG Edition in Malaysia, a white gaming laptop that pairs high-end hardware with a character-driven design identity.
But this MLG is not the “MLG” you probably know about from the memes. It is actually LOONG:NIA, the original dragon-inspired character whose story centres on courage, creativity, and the determination to overcome limits. Born into a lineage of Ancient Dragons but without wings, LOONG used her talent for mechanical design to build her own and became a night-sky guardian, a story MSI says is reflected in the laptop’s pearl-like Stellar White finish, custom MLG design elements, and bundled accessories.
Under the hood, the laptop runs up to an AMD Ryzen 9 8940HX processor and up to an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Laptop GPU with 12GB of GDDR7 memory. MSI OverBoost Technology allows up to 190W of total CPU and GPU power, while the Cooler Boost system, with dual fans, five heat pipes, and a quad-exhaust heatsink, is there to keep performance stable under heavy loads.
The display is a 16-inch QHD+ panel at 2560 x 1600 with a 240Hz refresh rate and 100% DCI-P3 typical colour coverage, aimed at both competitive AAA gaming and serious content creation. The Stellar White body has a shifting pearl-like glow with a flame-red sheen that changes under different lighting angles, and the MLG Edition adds custom details including the Crosshair signature, an MLG icon, a Dragon Shield, custom white keyboard styling, tuned 4-zone RGB lighting, and red rubber feet.
For longevity, the laptop supports DDR5 memory across two slots for up to 96GB, PCIe Gen4 and Gen5 storage with SuperRAID 5, Wi-Fi 6E, HDMI 2.1 output, USB Type-C with DisplayPort and Power Delivery, and Nahimic-enhanced audio. MSI AI Engine adjusts system settings for gaming, work, entertainment, and meetings.
Every unit comes with an exclusive premium pack that includes an MLG Edition mouse, headset, and extended gaming mouse pad. The Crosshair A16 HX MLG Edition is available in Malaysia from today, with the Ryzen 9 8940HX and RTX 5070 configuration priced at RM10,499. Buyers can also redeem an MLG character figure through the MSI member center with proof of purchase.
