With the release of the new Sudio E2, they made a few of my dreams come true – but they didn’t stop there. They went above and beyond, making the Sudio E2 one of the best TWS earphones that I’ve tried so far. I have shortlisted 5 of my personal favorite features – so let’s get into it.

Now, we won’t talk about the design or how beautiful the Sudio E2 is because Sudio is known to make their products look beautiful and feel super satisfying to touch. The Sudio E2 that we are showing here comes is called grey but… I don’t know how to describe it, looks a bit green? It just looks so mysteriously elegant.

Even the earbuds themselves look magnificent. Since the Sudio E2 uses touch controls to navigate – It has a copper-colored cutout to indicate where the touch controls are, while looking stylish at the same time. Kudos to Sudio for combining form and function so elegantly.

1. The new Sudio Personal Sound app

Okay, so my first favorite feature about the Sudio E2 is definitely going to be the app. I’ve been asking for Sudio to have an app for the earbuds since 2020 because having an app will elevate the user experience exponentially in terms of modes management – like ANC and transparency modes, while also offering more features like custom equalizers.

I mean, having a dashboard to see and control the earbuds directly from the phone means I can keep my hands on my phone or tablet and just tap a button to change to ANC mode.

The Sudio Personal Sound app also has a nice dashboard to tell me all the information that I need – but it’s not a perfect app still. There are a few problems that I discovered. For example, if I change from ANC to transparency mode by holding the touch panel for 3 seconds. the app doesn’t correspond to that change. Granted, the app is still new – and I’ve informed Sudio of the issues I’ve found. Hopefully, they can fix it soon.

2. Spatial audio with Dirac Virtuo

But, back to the app. Underneath the modes, we have a new toggle switch to enable or disable Dirac Virtuo. This feature is something like virtual surround sound but more like expanding the soundstage instead. I don’t know how to describe this to you, so I shall describe my experience.

Sudio E2

So, I listen to a lot of instrumental music, namely classical waltz music by Johann Strauss II, the fantastic OST for the game Donut County, composed by Daniel Koestner, and anything from The 8-Bit Big Band.

Originally, I listened to the music with Dirac Virtuo turned off. It sounded like it’s from my speakers – it doesn’t sound immersive. When I turned on the Dirac Virtuo, wow – the entire song sounds different. It’s like they’re playing the entire concert from within my head and it sounds magnificent. Best of all, the Sudio E2’s sound quality has improved so much that I can listen to every bass kick and tell where that bass is coming from.

Plus, the Dirac Virtuo feature can also be combined with either ANC or transparency mode too. I have no idea how that is possible, but I exclusively used ANC with Dirac Virtuo, then close my eyes and it feels serene.

As a quick mention – both the ANC and transparency modes work fantastically well. I am most impressed by the ANC performance since it doesn’t have any weird pressure feeling on the ears and the noise canceling is clean too.

3. Custom sound profile

Okay, back to the app once more – if we scroll down, the app has an equalizer section that you can create your own EQ or just use some of the presets that Sudio already made for you. As you can see, I have it in balanced now – but if we scroll even further down, we have another section called “my profiles” and the ability to create a new sound profile.

Sudio E2

I highly suggest you try out this feature as it creates a custom equalizer based on what frequency at what volume you can hear with your own ears. That is because everyone’s ears are different in terms of what we can hear at a certain volume – so this feature curates for that. Even as we get older, our hearing ability starts to deteriorate – so use this feature again to create a new sound profile.

Sudio E2

As you can see, I have already created one sound profile here for my ears. Tap on that, and the entire EQ graph changes. Of course, the music sounds a lot different but this is for my own ears. It’ll be different for your ears.

4. Easy to clean with the specially-designed eartips

Did you know that earwax can change how your earbuds sound? Yeah, our earwax can clog up the speaker port of the earbuds, hence that is why earbuds tend to shift in sound quality after using them for a long time – and that is why professional earbud cleaning services exist.

Sudio E2

Sudio created a special type of silicone eartip that has a built-in mesh that acts as a filter. It prevents earwax from getting into the earbud’s speaker port and we can even just take out the eartip to wash if we want to.

S, M (pre-installed), L, XL.

Plus, Sudio also included a few more sizes of eartips in the box – all of them with the same built-in mesh. No matter your ear size, there’s an eartip size for you.

5. Matching colors

Speaking about the eartip, let’s talk about my 5th favorite feature about the Sudio E2. You see, Sudio puts a lot of attention to detail when it comes to aesthetics.

Sudio E2

That is why the Sudio E2 that we have, comes with a cable that has a matching color, and the eartips were also color-matched. If you buy the Sudio E2 in green for example, then everything will match with that green color.
