We all use USB ports – be it for keyboards, mice, flash drives, tablets or smartphones. We use it for data transfer and now even to charge devices. With its versatility, USB ports are used for many things – one of the main reasons being convertible to many other types of USB ports.
Being the standard communication port for devices and peripherals, the guys over at USB 3.0 promoter group just announced something amazing.
There will be a new USB Type-C port that is smaller and has an entirely new design. The other thing that got everyone’s attention is the interchangeability of orientation – that means your USB connector can be upside down and it still works, unlike the USB ports these days where you get a 50-50 chance of getting it right without looking.
Of course, such an upgrade has been long awaited by all of us since the birth of USB ports and it is finally coming soon, where the expected time of unveiling is somewhere about mid-2014, probably during Computex.
