Each month, there are average of 820,000 unit of mobile phones sold! This means that people keep changing and buying new phones – very frequently too! The question here is : where do their old phones go? In a consequence with this kind of problem that face by everyone, Ninetology collaborated with Malaysia Nature Society (MNS) and had launched the Smart Ecology 2 program.
Smart Ecology 2 is a program to educate the public on importance of nature conservation and to provide a platform for Malaysian to recycle their old phones. As an incentive, RM200 is offered for those who trade in their old phones; students age between 12-21 are entitled to a RM150 rebate without trade-in.
Here is the guide to redeem:
We always never knew what to do with our old phones – some of us give it to our parents, some of us just take out the battery and keep it back in the box. Some of us even take the opportunity to subscribe to another telco to get the best of both telco’s prices. The most endangering to the environment is still by simply disposing old phones.
Ninetology and MNS’s Smart Ecology 2 campaign – which runs from November 2013 until 31st January 2014 – will now provide us a platform to dispose our old phones and still get rewarded for it! So if you have any old phone that you not using it please do visit Ninetology website for any trade in or rebate.
