Looks like Nokia has unveiled their newest Lumia and surprisingly, it is a tablet! However, Windows RT tablets was proven to be a flop even with their official Surface RT tablets. Nokia however are trying to salvage and harness the potential of Windows RT and taking a huge risk at it. The Nokia 10 inch tablet is competing directly with the new Surface 2.
The design of the Lumia family was preserved and brought on to the tablet form with it’s polycarbonate backing. The tablet features a full 1920×1080 HD display working together with a 2.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 which is the fastest Qualcomm mobile processor on the market along with 2GB of RAM. Internal capacity of the tablet is 32GB with an expandable external storage up to 64GB by using the Micro SD card slot. The tablet runs on the latest version of Windows which is the Windows 8.1.
At the back we have a 6.7 Megapixel camera with their famous paring of ZEISS optics together with a front camera which is capable of 2.2 Megapixel of selfies and video streaming. Wifi 802.11 a/b/g/n was installed together with Bluetooth 4.0 LE, NFC and GPS/GLONASS. Most exciting news of all is the 4G LTE capability.
Stereo speakers are a good pair of equipment but I always end up using a pair of earphones for my own tablet but maybe Nokia’s speakers are less muffled. It’s 8000mAh battery can last up to 10 hours of video which is quite impressive.
The tablet is expected to be sold at around USD 499(RM 1600; excluding tax and shipping) which is reasonable for a common tablet.
