Nothing has introduced something called Essential Voice that wants to be the next evolution in how voice typing is handled in smartphones.

After pulling Wrap from its platform, Nothing releases AI voice typing tool Essential Voice 1

Through the power of AI, one can simply speak normally and naturally, even with pauses, filler words, repeated thoughts, and all, the system will quietly clean everything up in real time, and with reference to prior instructions, turn it into a proper message, email, or note. Instead of getting raw transcripts filled with “uh” and “um,” you end up with polished text that looks like you typed it intentionally.

It also supports real-time translation across more than 100 languages, so you can speak in one language and have it converted on the fly. Meanwhile, custom voice triggers can be done too (any word or phrase), then you can have it expand into full text instantly, like an address or a templated response.

Nothing is also pledging to evolve the tool to be hyper-personalized to the user, as it will gain context-aware capability over time to know what the user is doing, such as messaging someone, writing an email, or searching for something.

As for using it, it can be activated through the keyboard or the dedicated Essential key on supported devices. Privacy-wise, Nothing emphasizes that it only activates when you use it, with audio encrypted during processing and not stored afterward.

Essential Voice is rolling out to newer devices like the Nothing Phone (3) and Phone (4a) Pro, with broader availability expected to follow.
