Another quarter, another round of market research from Opensignal. As usual, the operators involved in the analysis are Celcom, Digi, Maxis, U Mobile, Unifi, and Yes with close to 600,000 devices giving out more than 11.4 million measurements to help fellow Malaysians find out who’s the boss of telecommunications in this country for the last 3 to 4 months.
This time, Maxis is the overall winner at 3 out of 7 categories, particularly in videos, gaming, and download speed. Celcom continues to dominate what its business motives are which is service coverage, taking over categories of 4G availability and coverage experience with ease. Surprisingly, U Mobile has managed to come on top and take over the voice (ties with Unifi) and upload speed categories. Let’s see how far did it get ahead of its rival competitors.
It is a real close call for U Mobile to win in the Voice App Experience to just have 1 to 2 more points than the others but on the other hand, they pulled out ahead quite a bit in the Upload Speed category. Props to the company for beating the big boys for the first time.
