OPPO will be launching their latest F-series smartphone, the OPPO F9. It’s going to launch later today at 3.50pm – and you can watch it live on OPPO Malaysia’s Facebook page or on their YouTube channel. OPPO will be giving away one of the brand new OPPO F9 during the live stream as well – all you got to do is share the live video!

The OPPO F9 will also feature 6GB RAM and 64GB storage.
The new OPPO F9 will also come with the latest version of ColorOS – aptly named ColorOS 5.2. It’s skinned on top of Android 8.1.0 Oreo and has some new features as well.
With new feature added including Google Lens – to which long-time Android users will find it pretty similar to the original Google Goggles app from years ago. Then, OPPO also added the new Smartbar, Music On Display and smoother video editing experience. OPPO F9 promises to deliver great UI with beautiful hardware as well.
The new OPPO F9 is the first OPPO F-series to have Google Lens. The lens can identify objects and relevant results without having to depend on a separate application. For example, you can view the history, reviews and other information of a product by just snapping a picture. By doing so, the phone will list down all the details of the item. You can also snap a restaurant and receive all the information regarding the eatery.
The ColorOS 5.2 allows you to edit videos using the OPPO F9. Users can edit the video taken in multiple segments or combine clips to create a story. The OPPO F9, lets you discover your inner creativity.
Next, The Music On Display for ColorOS 5.2 allows users to play videos while the video is running in the background. As of now, you get to listen to your favourite music on YouTube while the phone is in sleep mode. That’s actually quite a brilliant workaround fix for YouTube’s inherent app issue.
The Smartbar function is no stranger to O-fans since its first appearance in ColorOS 5.1. However, the latest version added a vertical view compared to its predecessor which only had horizontal as the only option. With this new option, you can now reply to texts and calls directly without having to close the application.
Last but not least, the F9 will also be your very own “boombox” at parties. For OPPO smartphones which supports the Music Party feature, you get to blast your favorite tunes with your friends without plugging it to external speakers.
Once again, the grand launching of the OPPO F9 will be happening later today at 3.50pm.
The expected price for the OPPO F9 will be around RM1,699.
