OPPO Malaysia has officially introduced the Reno13 series smartphones to the local market today at the Sukan Arena Kuala Lumpur stadium.

The lineup consists of the base Reno13 5G, the premium Reno13 Pro 5G, as well as the more budget Reno13 F 5G. One way to identify them is that the base and Pro versions look almost identical thanks to the special “butterfly effect” on the backside with the Pro model having a bigger screen and a better set of back cameras while the F variant serves as a cheaper alternative with its simpler, dark color backside. But the glow-in-the-dark accent circling the camera bump is indeed special in its own way.

Anyway, the Reno13 and Reno13 Pro are both powered by the same MediaTek Dimensity 8350 SoC for power-efficient computing for daily driving and gaming. It also continues its iconic Portrait Photo Expert identity with a refined set of photographic algorithms for better photos and videos across the line.

One of the new features is the AI Livephoto found within the Camera app, which seemingly lets you take just a standard photo from the surface. But after looking at the result within the Gallery, you’ll be surprised that it is actually a very “short clip” that extends up to 1.5 seconds before and after the shot. OPPO explains that it allows “the user to capture moments that would have missed through traditional methods, allowing funny timings to be saved or beautiful subjects to shine more.”

As the latest line of OPPO AI Phones, of course, they have more AI-powered functions to help users out, from productivity-tailored AI Summary, AI Assistant for notes and documents, screen translations, and AI Writer to everyone’s favorite AI Editor within the Gallery app hosting AI Clarity Enhancer/Unblur/Reflection Remover/Motion, which is a huge flexibility in terms of cooking some fire content for friends and family sharing.

Last but not least, the phones come with IP66 + IP68 + IP69 water and dust resistance which makes them water-submersible and stay completely fine and functional after coming out of the pool.
