In news other than smartphones, OPPO Digital, another division of OPPO that solely focuses on audio and video, just announced their OPPO Sonica. It’s a speaker that meets all of our latest requirements in the year of 2016.
It looks sleek, has a bunch of connectivity that we actually use, and sounds decent. The OPPO Sonica can play music up to 24-bit at 192kHz, and supports FLAC, WAV, and Apple Lossless audio files. These music files can be played via aux cable, USB, Bluetooth, or from your network through both LAN or WiFi via Airplay, DLNA, or Spotify/Tidal’s own protocol. While it might choke your WiFi with such high bitrate audio files, the OPPO Sonica supports up to both 2.4GHz and 5GHz on 802.11ac WiFi standards.
