Malaysian Pokemon GO players might not be able to enjoy the game anytime soon after all. That is, if the news source is to be trusted completely. Pokemon GO SEA launch date might be fake after all.
As pointed here by Niantic Labs’s agency, fortyseven.com, responded to an email inquiring by IGN about its release date in SEA countries. What we know is this – Niantic Labs still have no plans to expand beyond Germany, US, Australia, and New Zealand. However, IGN also stated that the UK actually got to play Pokemon GO officially too. If there’s anything to take away from this, it’s mostly disappointment. Deep inside, I still hope that Niantic Labs will somehow make it official in SEA countries in a few more hours. That’s the best way to spice up the coming weekend too.
In the mean time, get the APK and prepare for what’s about to come. Based on what we can tell, more devices are now working with Pokemon GO, including the Intel-based ZenFone 2. I got my gear ready for what’s to come. It might be disappointing, but maybe I can play Ingress at the time. Seriously who actually remembers Ingress at this point?
UPDATE: Up until today, there’s no further word on SEA countries having Pokemon GO. However, Italy, Spain, and Portugal can now go out and be the very best. Like no one ever was! Check out the official updates here.
UPDATE 2: Pokemon GO is now available in 26 more countries. Guess what – all of them are in Europe. Asia gets no love at all! Below is the official announcement by Pokemon GO.
As of tonight, Trainers living in Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Greece, Greenland, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Sweden, and Switzerland are able to download Pokémon GO from the Play Store or App Store.
Guess we’ll have to wait longer.
UPDATE 3: Pokemon GO is now available in Canada too. Asia – still no news at all.
