It’s no surprise when you see everyone asking the age-old question; What makes the Huawei Mate RS worthy of such ludicrous price? To question is to justify.
The Mate RS is Huawei’s latest collaboration with Porsche Design, which is obvious that the inspiration of its design are based the aesthetics of Porsche’s luxury cars. Naming wise, it even shares the same designation used for cars such as the Porsche 911 Carrera RS and GT3 RS.
For the class and style of Porsche Design infused in such a small package – width of 72.5mm and thickness of 8.5mm, the Mate RS is a decadent luxury for both tech savvy and car enthusiasts.
Of course, aesthetics isn’t the only thing which the Mate RS offers. It features two finger print sensors, one of it being an innovative in-screen fingerprint sensor which allows consumers to wake the device up by hovering their finger above the display. To tackle with this issue, Huawei has incorporated aerospace grade microencapsulated phase-change materials used on space suits for the Mate RS chassis. The high-tech temperature-regulating material will absorb the heat from the system to prevent overheating and at the same time, providing comfort to the user while its being held in hand.
With the present of both style and cutting edge technology, the Mate RS has earn the recognition from the enthusiasts, which gives a good reason why it is worthy of the ludicrous price of RM6,999 – that one device that allows you to ‘touch’ the future.
