A few years back, Dell released the OptiPlex 7070 Ultra. I absolutely loved the idea of it as it is a reimagination of how an AIO PC should be. It’s easily accessible for upgrades, too.

For this new OptiPlex 7090 Ultra, Dell took the same idea and did an update on it. So, let’s see what’s new.

Okay, so the box of the OptiPlex 7090 Ultra is pretty simple. It comes with all the necessary things that you need to get started – particularly the monitor stand’s neck, the base, and also the OptiPlex 7090 Ultra to fit inside.

From what I remember here, the overall design is identical to the OptiPlex 7070 Ultra. It is still a monitor stand that is compatible with Dell monitors and has a place for the OptiPlex 7090 Ultra to fit inside the stand’s neck.

Installation process is also very easy!

And at that price point, maybe an ultrathin laptop with a vertical stand will make more sense. I mean, we can unplug a laptop and take it with us if we want to – and Intel laptops come with Thunderbolt 4 too – so one cable for everything, eh?

So yeah, the OptiPlex 7090 Ultra. It’s a fantastic design, and I really want to see it integrated into an Inspiron series or something that we can go into Dell’s website, customize an option to buy a monitor with this stand and this OptiPlex 7090 Ultra as a single item. No more swapping out monitor stands, please.

And please make it cheaper.

Either way, those concerns are coming from someone who wants a setup that’s viable for home users. The Dell OptiPlex 7090 Ultra is still a magnificent device on its own, just that the price of it is a bit out of reach for many people.

  1. 1/12/23 I bought a 7090 new in March of 22. It is the worst POS I have ever bought from Dell. Right out of the box, the 2nd video driver didn’t work so they replaced the motherboard. Now the HD loses data such as the server settings at random times. The new motherboard is jacked up too. So they are replacing that and the HD again. The Firewall settings keep getting dropped too. The 7090 is a LEMON !!
And I love the other 19 Dell computers I have bought over the last 15 years. Don’t buy this POS!
