When it comes to smartphones, there’s always this certification process with SIRIM. Once you’ve passed the certification, you can start selling the device in the market legally. Usually, the SIRIM certification is a good indication of when it’ll arrive to the market. And now, the ROG Phone just passed SIRIM’s certification.
The ROG Phone bears the model number ZS600KL, and there are currently two entries in the database – one from Dynamics Distribution, the official distributor of ASUS smartphones.
From the SIRIM certification, we can see a few new details about the ROG Phone. It is one of the rare smartphones to support 802.11ad WiFi. It even has NFC, and also comes with dual-SIM like any other ASUS smartphones.
However, there’s another question to be asked – what about the ROG Phone’s accessories? Like the WiGig Controller? The TwinView Dock? And also the Mobile Desktop Dock? They’re still nowhere to be seen, unfortunately. I guess that ASUS will be bringing the range of accessories for sale in Malaysia, but in quite limited units.
The ROG Phone will be the first smartphone to use a binned SoC – ever. Here’s the list of specs that you’ll get with the ROG Phone:

The next question here is the price – how much will the ROG Phone cost? Also, are you interested in getting one now? A lot has changed since its announcement back at Computex 2018. We saw the most affordable smartphone with Snapdragon 845 – and that’s the Pocophone F1 which we also reviewed here. With such a competitive market, the ASUS ROG Phone will need to be smartly priced if ASUS wants to get some market share in the mobile gaming industry.
