You might get the first impression – China phone? Rubbish
I will now tell you though that this Chinese phone manufacturer comes with a rather familiar interface for those that migrated from Android’s rival, the Apple’s iOS.
The Xiaomi operating system – known as MIUI – is available for a wide array of devices, where they all can run Android masked under the iOS interface looks to give first time users an intuitive beginning to slowly explore the ecosystem.
From the source IT168, specs of the Xiaomi Red Rice might be as below :
- Dual-core processor running at 1.2 GHz, claimed to be a Leadercore LC1810
- 4.7 inch 720p display (1280×720 pixels)
- 1GB RAM
- 8GB internal storage (no word whether it will support microSD)
- 8 megapixel main camera
- 2 megapixel front camera
- 2,000 mAh battery
- MIUI v5
Certainly some mid-high-end machine here, and rumoured to even support dual SIM too. With such specs, the phone is rumoured to be selling at only $130. That’s only RM388.25!!!!!!
Well, if we extrapolate the price to include tax, shipping, profit and whatnot, it’s quite safe to say that the phone will not reach a price of RM500.
Who knows, this phone might even boost the sales of Android too since their MIUI interface is really doing well!
