Samsung has officially unveiled its new 13-inch Color E-Paper display, expanding its Color E-Paper lineup with a model that feels like it’s designed to quietly replace paper signs wherever they still dominate.
Why? Because it is roughly the size of an A4 paper, and for businesses running those just for signage purposes, the new Color E-Paper option is a compelling upgrade, delivering 1600 x 1200 resolution in a 4:3 aspect ratio and powered by the Korean brand’s color imaging algorithm, smoothing gradients and sharpening contours to create visuals that closely resemble real paper.
This EM13DX model also uses minuscule amounts of power, with static images maintained at 0W, and even when content is refreshed, energy consumption stays far below conventional digital signage. A built-in rechargeable battery, USB Type-C support, and flexible mounting options mean the display can be installed without permanent power cables, while its ultra-slim 17.9mm profile and 0.9kg weight make it easy to move around as campaigns change.
Samsung is also gunning for more sustainability, with the display housing verified by UL to consist of 45% recycled plastic and 10% phytoplankton-based bio-resin, a material shift that can cut manufacturing carbon emissions by over 40% compared to petroleum-based plastics. Even the packaging sticks to the theme, with the box, cushioning, and accessory packaging made entirely from paper.
On the software side, managing content is kept simple. The Samsung E-Paper App on Android and iOS lets staff update local content straight from their phones, while compatibility with Samsung VXT enables remote device management, troubleshooting, and content deployment. For Color E-Paper displays, Samsung VXT also adds tools to optimise visibility and preview colours before going live.
Lastly, the freshly baked 20-inch Color E-Paper will make its debut at ISE 2026, joining the existing 32-inch option and rounding out a portfolio that’s clearly targeting a wide range of business signage needs.
