Ahead of the release of the new Samsung Galaxy Z series, the Korean giant has teased what’s being used in the screen department – Meet the Flex Titanium.

Upcoming Samsung Galaxy foldables will use new Flex Titanium for a slimmer yet more durable screen 3

It is said to make foldables thinner, stronger, and more immersive while reducing one of the category’s most noticeable compromises – the visibility of the display crease.

Combining structural redesigns with new display materials, Flex Titanium utilizes, you guessed it, 2 titanium-based components: a titanium-alloy film positioned beneath the OLED panel and a titanium support plate underneath the display module. As such, it offers around 20x greater mechanical stiffness than conventional polymer film while remaining extremely thin through a precision rolling process. The company says the film measures roughly one-third the thickness of an average human hair, allowing the display assembly to remain slim.

On the other hand, the display itself will offer higher resolution, powered by new organic materials that also cut down power consumption.

All of these will be showcased in detail during the Galaxy Unpacked event slated for July 22.
