I am very interested in the Galaxy Watch 4 mainly because of one thing – Samsung and Google struck a deal and Google officially “adopts” Samsung’s Tizen smartwatch OS into Google’s own Wear OS.

Fast forward to today, we finally have the new generation of smartwatches from Samsung that is equipped with the new Samsung One UI Watch for smartwatches.

Samsung also introduced two new smartwatches this generation – the Galaxy Watch 4 with a more modern, sleek, minimalist design – and also the Galaxy Watch 4 Classic with the iconic rotating bezel design. Both these smartwatches are circular, by the way.

The new Galaxy Watch 4 series of smartwatches are very sleek, in my opinion. I particularly like the tinier rotating bezels on the Galaxy Watch 4 Classic, but I do like the sleek minimalist design of the Galaxy Watch 4 too.

But, the most important aspect when it comes to the smartness of a smartwatch is the operating system. Samsung is revamping it and calling it the Samsung One UI Watch, which the company claims that it “looks and works more like your Galaxy smartphone”.

Samsung also implemented gesture controls so that you can do the chop-chop gesture or flicking to do something.

The Galaxy Watch 4 series of smartwatches also features deeper integration into the Galaxy ecosystem as it has the Auto Switch feature so that your Galaxy Buds can automatically switch between your Galaxy smartphone and also the Galaxy Watch 4 series. It’s a huge quality of life improvement.

The reason for this is because – the Galaxy Watch 4 has internal storage so you can download your Spotify music to listen directly from your Galaxy Watch 4 via your Galaxy Buds. Typical stuff.

Of course, the Galaxy Watch 4 also has a lot of apps for you to install – even Samsung Pay. Everything is protected securely since it has Knox as well.

By the way, the new Galaxy Watch 4 series is powered by a new chipset with a better GPU to provide better animations.
