Most probably the only phones you care about that is from Samsung is the Galaxy Note and the Galaxy S series. What you missed out however is Samsung’s mid-range and many more phones that are priced lowly.

This time however Samsung finally realized that their super huge array of phones are damaging their sales. Now, Samsung is looking to cut about 25% to 30% number of smartphone models in 2015. Samsung produces so many phones that the number of smartphones can be reduced by percentages. Wow.

Samsung’s decision comes by the fact that Chinese phone manufacturers like OnePlus and Xiaomi are doing amazingly well in the lowly-priced high-end devices, as they performance just as good as Samsung’s high-end phones at less than half of the price. This alone had already damaged Samsung’s operating profit margins by a painful 7% drop.

Now we’ll anticipate 2015, and see what Samsung brings to the market. Hopefully no more bloatware, no more TouchWiz, and no more included subscriptions that we don’t ever use at all.

Is Samsung’s “spray and pray” creed in smartphone manufacturing finally coming to an end?
