Samsung’s representative has confirmed that ads will soon disappear from the brand’s Android stock apps.

Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra long-term

As reported by SamMobile, Samsung has introduced advertisements into its line of stock apps such as Samsung Pay, Samsung Music, and Samsung Weather about a year ago in which the move has received negative responses from both consumers and prosumers because of how intrusive these ads can be and people just don’t want to see them especially if they paying thousands of dollars for one of the top tier devices.

But a recent online meeting has shed good news regarding the matter as Samsung Electronics’s President and Head of Mobile Communications Business TM Roh has stated that ads will be banished in future builds of the stock apps after an employee questioned the move last year. He also added that the removal of ads will be delivered through one UI software update but in regards to which update and when it is still unconfirmed.

Samsung definitely learned its lesson after pulling off a stunt that is used by the majority of Chinese brands such as Xiaomi because world-class, multination companies don’t really need to do that in my opinion. Their own line of products, after-sale services, software updates, etc is what defines its good brand image, recognition, and experience.
