Samsung’s Tizen OS is currently powering its smart wearables and smart TVs in general. While most highlights and movements of the operating system would attract more eyes in the Galaxy Watch sector, the brand’s latest partnership now allows non-Samsung smart TVs to adopt Tizen OS for the very first time.
Working closely with ODMs like Atmaca, KC, and Tempo, more consumers will start running into Tizen OS smart TVs than they expect since countries like Australia, Italy, New Zealand, Spain, and the UK will start shelving up offerings from Bauhn, Linsar, Sunny, Vispera running the open source software.
As part of the Tizen TV Platform Licensing program announced at the Samsung Developer Conference (SDC) last year, it allows other brands to step in and say “Hey I like Tizen OS and what you offer and I want it to be in my TV”.
Therefore, stuff like Samsung TV Plus which offers programs and live streams for free, Universal Guide which recommends and help user discovers their best content, and Bixby integration are all found within these partnered and licensed third-party smart TVs.
Malaysia when though.
