Tradition USB drives, please make way for SanDisk’s brand new USB Type C-based portable SSDs!
Currently, there are two of such SSDs that SanDisk is bringing in – the Extreme 900 and Extreme 500 Portable SSD. They’re all pocket-sized, rugged, and can have speeds up to 9 times and 5 times faster than a traditional portable hard disk respectively.
SanDisk is really going all out on these portable SSDs. Hefty, but it makes me drool.
How about the Extreme 500? It’s tiny, and has speeds up to 415MB/s. It comes in capacity up to 480GB too, making it a little more affordable for enthusiasts. It does have rubber bumpers to absorb shock, yet features a metal ring that easily clips to a bag for example.
The Extreme 500s come in 120GB and 240GB flavours are currently available in the market, and priced at RM549 and RM829 respectively, whereas the 480GB version will come in Q4, at a price of RM1,369.
Talk about speeds… I can’t even brain all these. With great speeds… comes greater desire for even faster speeds??
