With the announcement of a 2-week extension of MCO until 28th April 2020, many businesses that are deemed non-essentials that also do not apply social distancing are to remain closed and from what the past 4 weeks have told us, plenty of people that operate physical shops and deal locally are unable to produce any income.
To solve this, Shopee has introduced the Seller Support Package program to help and attract businesses to join the e-commerce sector while supporting existing sellers to rebound their sales. The program is valued at RM15 million targeting around 70,000 SMEs.

The program is going to aid local SMEs in various sectors such as fresh products, food and beverage, and even retail by incentivizing newcomers to join the e-commerce platform. Existing sellers are not forgotten as exclusive treatments are in for the group as well.
To start things off, new sellers will get RM400 of Shopee vouchers and RM200 of paid advertising service alongside 2-week complimentary participation in the RM19 Free Shipping program. Existing sellers will continue to enjoy 0 registration fees, no commission fee for marketplace sellers and also no listing fees.
On the other hand, all sellers will get up to 45% of fee discounts for RM19 Free Shipping and Coins Cashback programs, a chance for RM100,000 worth of campaign vouchers every week, and RM400 credit for paid advertising.
There are also Shopee University courses for newcomers to learn and adapt to Shopee’s ecosystem and it seems that they are ramping up the number of available slots and range of topics to smoothen the transition process.
Whether you’re an existing merchant on Shopee or interested to join and try out e-commerce, it is certainly a good time to do so. You can start applying today as the last day is on May 31, head over to the campaign page to learn all the details.
