Sonos has officially cut the ribbon to the grand launch of the brand new Sonos Beam Gen 2 soundbar that is made to provide a richer and wholesome listening experience.
Packing a clean and compact design, the 2nd generation of the Sonos Beam soundbar is pleased to present users with a more immersive sound experience through expressing greater depth, details, and clarity tuned for a wide range of outputs such as TV shows, music, gaming and more. While staying relatively the same size as last-gen, it now carries a new phased speaker array that supports eARC through HDMI which means modern codecs and sound format to churn out the best sound quality possible. Another selling point of it is the support for Dolby Atmos that is dedicated to 3D spatial audio output which most movie watchers and gamers will definitely appreciate.

As a side note, Sonos will soon integrate the Amazon Music UHD audio codec that plays lossless formats such as FLAC without any compression but the feature will cost you some money but made free to all Amazon Music Unlimited users across all S2 devices except Play:1, Play:3, Playbase, and Playbar. On the other hand, Dolby Atmos Music will be made available on Arc and the Beam Gen 2. Additionally, DTS Digital Surround Sound will be implemented later this year via the S2 platform on Playbar, Playbase, Amp, both generations of Beam and Arc.
