Music lovers will know exactly what this feels like. When you have Spotify, why not link all of your audio devices together and connect it to your phone?
With certain special speakers and home audio systems that has the “Spotify Connect” logo on it, you can use Spotify Connect by having the audio system to play your music through your phone or tablet. It’s much like a remote control, but then again it’ll all be on your phone and the speaker is connected to nothing but the wall for power and wirelessly to your phone.
Several audio hardware specialists will be available from Argon, Bang & Olufsen, Denon, Hama, Marantz, Philips, Pioneer, Revo, Teufal, Yamaha, and many more other brands to join the bandwagon.
Let’s say you have a speaker in your kitchen that supports Spotify Connect. It works by first selecting the speaker to play the songs on Spotify, and then the speaker in the kitchen will play the music from your phone for you. You can then control the music through your phone or tablet, but only plays Spotify music. Your phone or tablet can still play sound from other things while music from Spotify is playing through the speaker.
Spotify said that it “won’t drain your battery”, which I’m quite skeptical. Nonetheless though, the feature is great and it will be a Spotify Premium feature that is currently available for iPhone, iPad and home audio system. Android and desktop will have to wait for their updates though.
