Taiwan Excellence brought together sports enthusiasts, community groups, and wellness advocates at the “Go Healthy with Taiwan” Football Carnival in Shah Alam, leveraging the popularity of football to promote healthy living and community engagement.
The event, held at Sportizza Shah Alam, attracted more than 150 participants from sports organisations, social associations, and non-profit groups.
Organised under the “Go Healthy with Taiwan” initiative, the carnival featured nine football-themed challenge stations designed to encourage active participation among attendees of all ages. Activities included shooting, dribbling, juggling, and precision-kick games, reinforcing the campaign’s message that sports can play a meaningful role in improving health and well-being.
The event received support from organisations including Lerak FC, Pendowo Limo Muaythai, Women Social Futsal & Football Malaysia and various community-focused non-profit groups. A friendly futsal match between Taiwan Excellence mascot FuBear and Malaysia’s Harimau mascot emerged as one of the day’s key attractions, drawing strong crowd participation.
The programme was further supported by the presence of Selangor State Assemblyman Danial Al Rashid, former national footballer Indra Putra, and football influencer Coach Dom. Their appearances contributed to the event’s broader goal of encouraging public engagement with sports and healthy lifestyle initiatives.
Alongside the football activities, attendees were able to visit the Taiwan Innovation Experience Zone, which showcased a selection of Taiwanese health and lifestyle technologies. Exhibitors included Johnson Fitness, Biogend, Acerpure and Footer, highlighting solutions ranging from fitness equipment and air purification systems to regenerative healthcare technologies and performance-focused apparel.
The carnival forms part of Taiwan Excellence’s broader efforts to demonstrate how technology and innovation can support healthier communities. Organisers said the initiative aims to encourage greater public participation in wellness activities while highlighting practical solutions that can improve quality of life.
Participants also had opportunities to win prizes, including return air tickets between Kuala Lumpur and Taipei, Touch ’n Go e-vouchers, Footer functional socks, and Taiwan Excellence merchandise.
The event also served as a platform to promote the ongoing “Go Healthy with Taiwan 2026” Global Proposal Campaign. Open right now until August 5, the programme invites government agencies, businesses, educational institutions, and non-profit organisations in Malaysia to submit health-focused proposals capable of delivering measurable community impact.
The top three winning entries will each receive a US$30,000 cash prize and opportunities to collaborate with Taiwanese technology providers on future health and sustainability initiatives.
