We all know Taylor Swift – but not many of us know about Apple Music, Apple’s very own music streaming service, much like what Spotify and Google Play Music is doing.
There’s a sweet deal for using Apple Music – it’s coming to Android too, and you get 3 months of free trial for those who sign up for their service. However there’s a twist – as Taylor Swift says it, “Apple Music will not be paying writers, producers, or artists for those three months”.
Taylor Swift claims that this isn’t about her, but about the newcomers to music who can’t financially support themselves just yet. This is about the producer who works tirelessly to innovate and create, just like the innovators and creators at Apple are pioneering in their field…but will not get paid for a quarter of a year’s worth of plays on his or her songs.
