Continuing the list of CSR that TikTok is doing is the new campaign that centers around wastage. This campaign is named #ZeroWaster, though it is not possible to have absolutely zero waste. It is possible to still mitigate the amount of waste if we know what to do with it.

TikTok #ZeroWaster

The #ZeroWaster challenge encourages participants to produce zero waste over the course of one to three days, then share those experiences on TikTok. Thining about it, it’s actually quite difficult. Hence, creators also published educational TikTok videos to show the community how to live the life of #ZeroWaster.

Global Initiatives also partnered with TikTok to mobilize a global network of students from universities around the world to join this campaign, using their creative ideas to engage followers on TikTok and activate support for a sustainable future.

Increasingly we are seeing the youth step up and take charge to address the most urgent environmental issues like eliminating waste and addressing climate change. The sustainability movement is gaining traction and young people are an important force behind this.

– Kim Stengert, Worldwide Fund for Nature (WWF)’s Chief of Strategic Communications

The top ten #zerowaster submissions will be featured at the Responsible Business Forum (RBF) on Sustainable Development, with an audience of over 300 businesses and sustainability leaders from around the world. The Responsible Business Forum is organized by Global Initiatives, in partnership with global organizations such as the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD), and will be held on 18th to 19th November in Singapore.

With so many people heading first into moving the world towards a sustainable future with #TeamTrees and TikTok’s continuous list of CSRs, it is great to see that the world is indeed moving towards a more environment-conscious world.
